Harvest Bans
Harvest Bans Hot Line 08 9064 7689
Harvest Bans are instigated by the Weather Control Officer and Deputy and are broadcast over 6MD and ABC radio. A harvest ban can be in two forms, restricted movement and total movement bans. Restricted movement means that vehicles are only allowed to move on paddocks to water stock. A total ban means that there is to be no movement on paddocks at all. Harvest bans are gauged not only on the temperature, but also on humidity and wind velocity and are monitored using scientific methods.
The Shire also provides a mobile phone SMS service. To register contact the Shire Office on 08 9064 7308.
