Waste Collection

Recycling Information

Recycling in Narembeen is carried out by the Lions club. Recyclable goods can be left at the recycling centre located in front of the Goods Shed, Latham Road Narembeen. Monies raised are going towards the Senior Citizen Christmas dinner and other community projects.

Tin Cans are collected by the Buffs Lodge 101 and all money raised from this venture goes towards a Buffs Christmas Picnic held in December of each year for the children of the district.

General Information - Waste Disposal sites

Council operates 1 waste disposal site: Emu Hill East Road Narembeen. A licensed disposal site is still to be developed at Wadderin. Council are currently looking at a joint venture disposal site with the Shires of Corrigin, Kondinin, Kulin & Bruce Rock.


Rubbish Collection Days/Times

The Shire provides a 240L bin kerbside collection service for the town site of Narembeen. Bins are emptied each Tuesday morning. Residents are advised to place their bins with the wheels away from the Kerb the evening before collection.

Bins for new dwelling or replacements can be ordered through the shire and will be delivered on the next pickup day.

Council contracts Avon Waste services to provide this service.

DrumMuster Collections

Narembeen Shire is a signatory to the DrumMuster program and runs approximately two collections at its depot every year, one early and the other latter in the year. Contact the Shire for the next date.

DrumMuster is program set up to collect cleaned chemical drums for processing to enable reuse of the materials the drums are made from. More information on this program including what drums are eligible and the cleanliness standard required can be found at www.drumMuster.com.au.
