The Shire of Narembeen congratulates all winners and looks forward to planning next year’s entry.

The Shire of Narembeen’s digital design was created by Market Creations who also played a role in the Shire’s re-branding process, so they already had a good understanding of our community and its values.

During the community engagement process for the Shire’s rebranding in 2018, it became evident that the Hawk represents the dynamic sporting culture and strong community spirit of Narembeen and hence why the Hawk is a powerful element within the Shire’s new logo.

The Shire wanted to bring the new logo to life by introducing the Hawk as a fun loving character who participates within the community at sporting and cultural events.  Showcase in Pixels is the Hawk’s inaugural public appearance and from here the character will grow and become a strong mascot and role model for our community.

Other components that feature in our banner are all symbolic of Narembeen including our Ski Lake where community members spend countless hours and wildflowers which are abundant in Spring and bring colour and life to the Wheatbelt.  Giant Salmon Gums which pepper our paddocks shadowing a distant canola crop which represents the link to the past and future of agriculture in our region.

Our “Hawk” does not have a name yet, but already has a big personality and with the community’s assistance we look forward to a name in late 2019.
