The Active Citizenship Award is awarded to a group or an event staged in the community in the past year. The Narembeen Netball Club in June last year hosted a very successful Gala Day occasion to coincide with 2 auspicious events. The 50th Anniversary of the Netball Club (postponed from 2020 because of Covid19) becoming the 51st Anniversary and the official naming of ‘The McCutcheon Courts’. The Courts were named to honour Joan McCutcheon as our first female Councillor for the Shire of Narembeen and her tireless volunteer work in the community especially with the Netball Club. The Anniversary event was held at the Narembeen Club with approximately 150 past and present members and families attending some travelling great distances to be there. The venue was decorated in memorabilia dating back to 1970 and included perpetual trophies, honour boards, old uniforms, game write ups, poems, grand final medallions and a slide show with hundreds of photos showing to many that it wasn’t only the fun on the court that makes the club so great.

Congratulations Narembeen Netball Club 51st Anniversary.
