Council Meeting Outcomes - November 2019

The meeting, chaired by Shire President, Cr Rhonda Cole made resolutions in respect of the following matters:- 

Supply of Bitumen and Aggregate 2019/2020

Council approved the bitumen eQuote from Bitutek Pty Ltd for the supply of bitumen, the eQuote from Hanson Heidelbergcement Group for the supply of aggregate for various projects to be undertaken over the next financial year within the Shire.  Council accepted that the CEO would engage local contractors in line with policy to cart the aggregate.

Wheatbelt Secondary Freight Network (WSFN) Program

Council viewed a summarised proposal in relation to priority one freight routes around the Shire of Narembeen.  Council agreed with the presented proposal and the proposal has been submitted to the WSFN steering committee for consideration.

Ramelius Resources—Traffic Route Proposal

Council approved for the use of the Merredin-Narembeen Road, Fricker Road, Latham Road, Kondinin Narembeen Road, Mt Walker Road and Mt Arrowsmith Road being Shire of Narembeen’s controlled roads, to haul ore from Tampia Hill Operations to the Shire’s northern boundary located at SLK 0.00 on the Merredin Narembeen Rd, subject to a number of conditions.

Narembeen Bowling Club Resurfacing Project

Following a presentation and letter of request to Council by President of the Narembeen Bowls Club, Mr Stephen Padfield, Council agreed to support the Narembeen Bowling Club’s request for a self-supporting loan for the amount of $100,000 to assist with the resurfacing of one synthetic bowling green at the Narembeen Recreation Centre. 

Shire of Narembeen Annual Report 2018/2019

Council agreed to adopt the Shire of Narembeen Annual Report for the 2018/2019 year including the Annual Financial Report and Independent Auditor’s Report.  It was also agreed that the Annual Elector’s meeting be held at 1.00pm on Wednesday 18th December 2019 in Council Chambers.  To view the Shire of Narembeen’s Annual Report click on this link: 2018/2019 Annual Report

Repeal of Existing Council Policies

Council in line with the previously adopted Council Policy—Strategic Policy Framework, resolved to repeal seven existing Council Policies that are operational in nature as outlined in the new Policy.  This is in line with Council’s future strategic intent to move away from Council Policy that is not of a strategic nature but more operational which is the responsibility of the Executive (CEO).
