On a beautiful Narembeen winters morning, sun shining brightly 9am Wednesday 29 July 2020 Cr Rhonda Cole, Cr Scott Stirrat, Cr Alan Wright, Cr Warren Milner, the CEO Chris Jackson and Works Manager Arthur Cousins (tour guide and bus driver) set off on a road trip around the Shire.

Inspection of this year’s planned projects included Roads to Recovery projects—Soldiers Road, Sloss Road, Yeomans Road and Dixon Road.  Regional Road Group projects—Cramphorne Road, Narembeen South Road and Kondinin-Narembeen Road.  Wheatbelt Secondary Freight projects including Mount Walker Road and the Merredin-Narembeen Road.

A lunch stop was had at Roe Dam, with roads being inspected in between Councillors and staff headed to look at some recent projects including the Airstrip and the Cemetery.

It is important to undertake these road safety inspections on an annual basis to ensure best practice and adequate future road budgeting.
