Hosted by the Quairading CRC, the 3rd Wheatbelt CRC meeting was held on Friday 17 May 2019 with approximately 30-40 CRC’s being represented from across the region.  Narembeen has hosted the two previous meetings and staff from both the Narembeen CRC and the Shire of Narembeen attended this important on going get together of CRC’s.

Executive Officer of the Wheatbelt Business Network, Caroline Robinson who facilitated the meeting said “thank you to everyone that came to support our efforts.  The meeting was an opportunity to present the network of Wheatbelt CRC’s as the point of engagement for any organisation who wants to engage in our rural communities.”

The day included workshopping opportunities with the Census Victoria Team, the Hon Alannah MacTiernan—Minister for Regional Development addressed the meeting and an opportunity was provided for attendees to meet with her over lunch and CEO of the Shire of Narembeen Chris Jackson facilitated a forward planning workshop for CRC’s.

Chris Jackson, said “these meetings are about getting CRC’s to think outside the square to find opportunities beyond what’s happening in your own backyard, CRC’s need to think BIG to develop opportunities in order to ensure CRC’s remain sustainable into the future.”
