Vulnerable Residents List

The Shire of Narembeen maintains a list of residents who may need additional support in the event of an emergency.

Inclusion on the list is voluntary, and may be updated or removed at any time. Individuals may be included if they:

  • Are over the age of 70 and live alone
  • Have  a physical or cognitive disability that may impair their ability to respond in an emergency
  • Are undergoing serious medical treatment (for example - chemotherapy, dialysis, home oxygen)
  • Lack access to transportation or support networks
  • Require regular carer support or in-home support services
  • Have limited communication abilities (for example - no phone or internet access)

Access to the contents of the list is restricted to 

  • Hospital and Medical Centre
  • Homes for the Aged (facility managers)
  • Incident Controller (when appointed)
  • Local Welfare Liaison Officer
  • Local Welfare Working Group
  • Shire Chief Executive Officer
  • St John Ambulance (Narembeen sub-centre)
  • WA Police (local emergency response)
