The Shire outsources Planning and Development Services, Building Services and Environmental Health functions to external contractors.

Planning and Development

Contractor: Town Planning Innovations

Development Services may also be referred to as Planning. The Planning Consultant will assess the applications against the Local Planning Scheme, as well as any relevant legislation and By-Laws. Development applications may be required to go to council for a decision, whilst some cases are able to be decided by the CEO using delegated authority.

Building Services

Contractor: City of Kalamunda

Building services are required to ensure that the buildings being erected are suitable for the location, meet required standards for materials and the like. Building services also includes demolition, fencing, occupancy permits.

Health Services

Contractor: RoeROC Environmental Health Officer

The Shire has an agreement with the Roe Regional Organisation of Council (RoeROC) to share the services of the Environmental Health Officer, who completes Health related services at each shire.

Health Services are required to ensure that buildings, structures, apparatus, fencing and applicable businesses are maintaining the correct standard and are safe for use.
