AusAlert National Test

The Australian Government will be conducting a national test of AusAlert, a new emergency warning system designed to send alerts directly to compatible mobile devices during disasters and emergencies. During the test, mobile phones, tablets and smart watches may receive a test notification.

The alert will cause devices to vibrate and play a loud siren-like sound for approximately 10 seconds. If this alert may cause distress, disrupt important activities, or affect you or someone in your care, please consider turning off your mobile devices or switching them to aeroplane mode before the scheduled test time.

To avoid receiving the test alert, keep devices switched off or in aeroplane mode for at least one hour after the test begins.

Please note: This is only a test. No action is required. In a real emergency, AusAlert messages will provide important information and instructions to help keep you, your family and your community safe.
